A W _ type hexagonal ferrite BaZn2Fe16O27 was prepared by solid phase reaction in the ternary system BaO-ZnO-Fe2O3. Its morphology observation and phase identification were carried out by SEM and XRD, and X _ ray powder diffraction data were first given in this paper.
