By means of the new type of electromagnetic nondestructive measurement instrument(DWY-1),using the RBF(Radial Basis Function) neural network optimized by modified Gram-Schmidt method,the real-time on line non-destructive detect for hardness of steel parts was realized.
In order to realize real-time online electromagnetic nondestructive testing(ENDT) for carburizing depth of steel part,a newly developed electromagnetic nondestructive measurement instrument(DWY-1) was used to carry out experiment on RBF(radial basis function) artificial neural network optimized by modified GramSchmidt method.
The basic principle and method of testing steel and iron material quality by initial incremental permeabili- ty is stated. Using single chip computer to process the collected data according to matheematical statistics method such as regression analysis, qualitative and quantitative testing of mass fraction of carbon , hardness, carburized layer depth, cracks and friction welding defects of steel and iron parts are accomplished by " WGF - I type microcomputer-baed automatic evaluator of matedal quality for steel and iton" .
Aiming at the mixed material selecting problem of steel and iron parts, we introduce an electromagnetic nondestructive testing method based on the principle of initial increment permeability in this paper. To overcome the shortcoming of the learning algorithms of former recognizing system and conventional BP neural network, we put forward an improved algorithm and increase the reliability of network classification.
