Under condition of soilless cultivation in a greenhouse, the nutrient substance in the endosperm of the rice grain was generally transformed into organic matter of the seedlings during growth and development. Our experiement showed that the transformation ratio varied with the oxygen content of water used for cultivation.3. Preliminary study has also been made on the metabolism of the roots of rice seedlings under present experimental condition, the results of which showed that in case of decreasing oxygen concentration there was an accumulation of amino acids and malic acid and lowering of total protein content,which indicated that the deficiency of oxygen supply weakened the synthetic process of protein in the roots.

The seedlings of Oph iopgon japonicas (L.f) Ker-Gawl were treated with IBA, NAA and IBA+NAA of 10, 20,30, and 40 ppm for 16 hrs., and then, were measured the peroxidase activity and the content of pro-tein of seedlings after 7, 15 and 50 days in water cultivation, respectively. 本研究表明,用表油菜素内酯(24—Epibrassinolide,简称BR)0.05ppm或0.01ppm浸泡烟草种子24小时后,种子的电导率和渗出液紫外光OD值降低,吸氧量增加,乙烯释放速度和释放量增大;烟草种子萌发时间缩短,其发芽率、萌发系数和发芽势分别高于对照10%、30%和15%以上;幼苗植株干重及根长和根干重明显地增加;幼苗生长势及其抗逆性增强.
