This article introduces the basic concept of intercell handover and its primary procedure,including the handover algorithm recommended in the GSM specifications,main flow diagrams,as well as two new topics directional retry flow chats and switchover between GSM /DCS frequencies.
Compared to the IETF mobile IPv6 and HMIPv6(Hierarchical Mobile IPv6),a new mobility management model is propsed,using the dynamic MAP(Mobility Anchor Point) domain and time of changing MAP,to reduce the frequency of handover's happen,hold the continuity of the correspondence when handovers occur and make the load of MAP balance.
