According to the information of the geothermal exploration, development and scientific research, the authors analyze the forming condition, reservoir type and developing potential of the geothermal resource in Tianjin.
Through the application of geophysical, geochemical and isotope geology in geothermal exploration, their superiorities in suitable conditions are clarified, indicating a new train of thought for geothermal exploration, which plays an important role for rationally exploration in geothermal resource and adopting rational techniques and methods.
Special geothermal exploration have been carried out in big cities where there are no natural thermal springs, and geothermal water has been found in city areas such as Beijing, Tianjin, Xian and Kunmin.
During the past 25 yr, nearly all available electromagnetic and geoelectric techniques have been tested for their usefulness in geothermal exploration and exploitation.
Dipole-dipole profiling, audiomagnetotellurics and controlled source electromagnetic methods are examples of those which have proven to be rather efficient for geothermal exploration.
A major geothermal exploration work is planned with seismic investigations, drillings to depths of 2000-4000 m and probably establishment of pilot district heating plants.
In this paper, the distribution of geothermal activities in China in relation to tectonic structures, are discussed. Prospecting of geothermal resources and their utili-zation and the present state of theoretical, observational and experimental work in geo-thermic studies are reviewed. Finally, the future tasks are suggested and the prospects of geothermie research in this cuntry are proposed.
The main conclusions are as follows:(1) Terrestrial heat flow data-set from continential area of China has been analysed. Statistical data show that heat (q) varies in a broad range (30-320mW/m2),but mostly concentrated in 40-85 mW /m2, the average value being 63±16 mW /m2This is consistent with the recent statistical analysis of the global data-set from continents. Generally, heat flow pattern in China is characterized by "high in SW (70±23mW/m2) and SE (66±15mW/m2)"," low in NW (43±8mW/m2) and NE (59±13 m...
The geothermometer is often used to calculate the deep temperatures of geothermal reservoirs on the basis of water-rock equilibrium in the exploration of geothermal resources. In some cases, however, the chemical components as geothermometers are not in real equilibrium with the minerals in the reservoir. The log (Q K) diagram, the judgement of the equilibrium states at different reference temperatures, and the NaK-Mg triangular diagram are used to study the equilibrium state of thermal fluids in this paper...
