    In this paper the coagulants of the coagulation treatment of leather industry synthetic sewage were reasonably chosen. The optimum conditions of the coagulation treatment were determined by economic analysis. The goal of reducing medicament cost was attained.

    The investigations were based on sulfide removal of tannery waste lime liquor and effluent, using MnSO 4 as catalyst of aeration. The ultrasound of 23.7kHz and 600W was used to enhance the treatment. It was found that proper sonication leads to considerable increase of sulfide removal rate and decrease of aeration duration. For example,the removal rate of sulfide in effluent increased to 94.6% after treating with ultrasound for 30 min then aerating for 1.5 hour, compared to 67.7% without ultrasound. The same...
