Based on a fuzzy abstract algebraraic system subsuming the complementarity laW,of fuzzyBoolean algebra,the Reiter default rule is extended from Boolean logic to fuzzy logic usingthe convertibility between the fuzzy logic expression and Boolean function。A reasoningmechahism is therefore developed which has the ability of fuzzy nonmonotonic reasoning。The fuzzy default rule is discussed in depth from the point of view of applicability.

Based on the definition of maintainability, this paper developed a generalized system maintainability model by application of stochastic process theory.
