During the past two decades,significant advances have been made in metallurgical science and technology.One of the distinguished characteristics is more used mathematical methods in systems analysis for the study of industrial processes and their control.To a large extent,this progress is due to the introduction of scientific principles including the theory of mass, heat and momentum transfer in the study of metallurgical processes and the design and operation of metallurgical systems.Metallurgical science and technology are gradually getting mathenatization and precision.Proceeded from the physical concepts,the author had briefly analysed the main points of the theory about transport phenomena and its application to metallurgical processes.On the basis of that analysis,the theory of transport phenomena has been discussed further.And the application of the theory in metallurgy as well as the aspects of mathematical modelling for metallurgical processes are concretely illustrated by the consideration and deailing of some practical problems,including ourselves related research work.Also,some ideas and suggestions have been proposed for the development or scientific research in this field.

In the present paper some typical sherd samples of Guanru(imperial Ru), Rujun, Lin-ru (popular Ru) and Yaozhou green glazed wares of the Song Dynasty are studied, andtheir chemical composition, microstructures, sintering temperatures, porosities of bodiesand spectrophotometric reflectance of glazes are examined. Changes in colour and appea-rance after refiring are observed.In order to understand the characteristics of local rawmaterials and the relationships between raw materials and green glazed wares fromscientific and technical point of view,some typical raw materials are analysed.The experi-mental results indicate that the difference in colour and opacity or transparency of Ruand Yaozhou green glazes depends not only on their chemical composition, such as SiO_2/Al_2O_3 (molar ratio), phosphorous content and colouring elements, but also on certaintechnological factors, such as firing temperature, firing time, cooling procedure andchange of atmosphere during the firing process.The glaze-body interlayer in Ru and Yaozhouwares is an oxidizing reaction layer, its colour also depends on the nature of atmospherein firing process.Thickness of the anorthite crystalline layer formed on the glaze-bodyinterlayer near the glaze side,is approximately equal to 1/10 of that of the interlayer. TheRu and Yaozhou bodies were made of local clays, and the glazes could be prepared fromsuitable amount of local clay,feldspar or feldspar granite as well as wood ash in appro-priate proportion. Guanru and Rujun wares must be made at low temperature,with longer firing dura-tion and slower cooling rate.

本工作研究了宋代汝窑的官汝、汝钧和临汝以及耀州窑青瓷的一些有代表性的残片标本。分析和检验了它们的化学成分、显微结构、烧成温度、胎的气孔率和釉的分光反射率。为了从科学和技术的观点了解当地原料的特征和原料与青瓷之间的关系,分析了若干典型的原料。 试验结果表明:汝窑和耀州窑青釉在颜色和乳浊或透明上的差异不仅取决于其化学组成如SiO_2/Al_2O_3比、磷含量和着色元素,还取决于工艺因素,如烧成温度、烧成时间、冷却制度和在烧成中氛围变化。
