To facilitate the design,teaching and research of asphalt pavements,the article founded the models of displacement and tensile stress of three layer system by using separation of variables,analysis and synthesizer.

Constrains were divided into three type: project constrains, assembly constrains and geometric constrains. Feature based parametric model methods was adopted, which was expressed with three layer system configuration of application layer, description layer and graphic layer.

A model was presented for hydrogen permeation in a two layer system consisting of deposit and substrate metals, and the permeation current-time relationship was derived.

A finite element method for axisymmetric layered system with vertical jointsin surface layer is presented for analysing the surface deflections, the stressesand the strains of concrete block pavements.

The ■aw of the distribution of stresses and the problem of critical stresses in an elastic two-layer system under vertical,horizontal and their resultant load uniformly distributed on a circular area were studied respectively on the basis of investigation results for stresses and displacements in an elastic two-layer system under horizontal load uniformly distributed on a circular area.From extensive calculation,it has been found that for a single wheel load:(1)generlaly, The maximum tensile stress occurs under the center of the loaded area at the bottom of the upper layer under vertical load;However,when thickness of the upper layer is thinner,the maximum tensile stress occurs at some distance from the center; (2)In most case,the maximum shear stress is located in edge of the loaded area on the surface of the upper layer under resultant load. Under dual-wheels load:(1)The maximum tensile stress usually are found on the vertical axis through center of the loaded area at the bottom of the upper layer under vertical load;However,if the layer thickness is bigger or the thickness is thinner and the modular ratio between lower and upper layer(E_2/E_1)is greater than or equal to 0.2,it occurs at a number of distance from the center of the loaded area;The effect of horizonlal load on the maximum tensile stress is quite small and therefor can be neglected;(2)The maximum values of shear stress are found in edge of the loaded area on the surface of the upper layer under resultant load. From the analyses of these expressions together with a series of corresponding mathematical operations, a set of formulas are established for the integration of stresses and displacements in a N-layer system. On this basis a computer program is worked out and a part of the results are lis ted.

With the aid of this method, the author has succeeded in deriving the expressions for the integral constants in integral formulae for stresses and displacements in each layer of the system by solving system of linear algebraic equations resulted from the basic equations of elastic mechanics with definite conditions.A set of formulae available to the integration of stresses and displacements within an n-layer system has been derived by analysing the above-mentioned expressions together with a series of mathematical operations. On the basis of this investigation, a computer program for an n-layer elastic-continuous system under the combined action of two vertical and two horizontal loads uniformly distributed on circular areas has been worked out. As an example, the calculation results with the program are given at the end of this paper.
