Heat transfer inside the internal combustion engines is a complex process, extensive research has been underway, but it is not as yet quite clearly understood. This paper introduces previous investigations for heat transfer process within internal combustion engine cylinder and analyzes the main influence factors.

内燃机气缸内的气体流动,尤其是进气门关闭后至压缩上止点前缸内气流的涡流及紊流状态对发动机的油、气混合有着重大的影响。本文根据螺旋进气道的稳流试验结果建立了计算缸内气体涡流的数学模型,并且利用热线风速仪来测量缸内的涡流的大小及紊流参数。计算结果与实测有较好的一致趋势。紊流参数的研究为发动机的供油系统匹配提供了较好的依据。

The determination of the transient heat transfer coefficient between working substance and the surface of cylinder in internal combustion engines is an important foundation for studying the practical cycle of the engines and the thermal loadings of their high-temperature parts. In this paper, the developments within recent seventy years in the world in the understanding of the transient heat transfer coefficient are reviewed and the opinions of the author on this problem are presente.
