(2) The expression of GM CSF mRNA was (1.4±0.6) in the asthmatic group, significantly higher than that in the control group (0.3±0.3) ( P <0.05), and GM CSF mRNA expression was correlated with the numbers of EG 2 positive cell ( r =0.73 and P <0.05). (3) The percentage of eosinophils in induced sputum from asthmatic patients was (0.334±0.067), which was significantly higher than that from chronic bronchitis and control (0.021±0.004), (0.008±0.003)( P <0.05). (4) The expression of GM CSF mRNA in asthmatics was (0 320±0 054), significantly higher than that in chronic bronchitis and the control group (0.188±0 024 and 0 058±0 028) ( P <0.05). The expression of GM CSF mRNA in patients with chronic bronchitis was also significantly higher than that in the control group ( P <0.05). Conclusions The expression of GM CSF mRNA in induced sputum may be a relatively specific marker for airway inflammation.

Objective:To investigate the roles of eosinophil cationic protein(ECP) and interleukin-5(IL-5) in pathogenesis of asthma,and evaluate the effects of induced-sputum examination in research of asthma.Methods:Induced sputum was collected by hypertonic saline ultrasonic nebulization from subjects included asthmatics with acute attacks,asthmatics with no symptoms,chronic wheezing bronchitis with acute attacks and healthy controls.The concentrations of ECP,IL-5 in serum and induced sputum from all subjects were measured synchronously with immuno-CAP system or enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA),and the lung functions tests were examined with pneumometer.Results:Most of the subjects cowld tolerate the examination of induced sputum.The ECP and IL-5 were significantly higher than in all other groups.There were positive correlations of concentrations not only between ECP and IL-5,but also between ECP or IL-5 in serum and induced sputum.The FEV 1/FVC was inversely related to respective concentration of ECP、IL-5 in serum or induced sputum from acute asthmatics.Conclusion:The results sugggest that ECP and IL-5 play important roles in the pathogenesis of asthma,and the induced sputum has advantages of safeness,facility,reproducibility and great value in research of asthma.

目的 :探讨嗜酸性细胞阳离子蛋白 (ECP)和白细胞介素 5 (IL 5 )与哮喘发病的关系 ,并评价诱导痰在哮喘研究中的作用。方法 :采用高渗盐水雾化诱导痰液 ,以荧光免疫法和酶联免疫法对哮喘组 ,慢性喘息型支气管炎组 ,健康组血清和诱导痰中ECP、IL 5水平进行同步检测并测定肺功能 (FEV1 /FVC)。结果 :大部分患者 (96 % )能耐受诱导痰检查。哮喘组急性期血清和诱导痰中不仅ECP及IL 5水平较其他各组明显升高 ,而且ECP与IL 5水平之间存在显著正相关性 ,ECP或IL 5与FEV1 /FVC呈显著负相关性。结论 :ECP和IL 5在哮喘发病中起着十分重要的作用 ,诱导痰检查具有安全、简便、结果重复性强的优点 ,用于哮喘的研究具有较大价值。
