The low SiO2 content dune sands are generally used in many Chinese iron foundries for preparing moulding sands. A series of experimental sands with various proportions of SiO2 content are prepared by mixing these two base sands. The influences of SiO2 content of sand on the properties of mould and the quality of iron casting are investigated. Test results show that the ability to prevent scabbing, burn-on and metal penetration of the low grade sand is not inferior than that of the high grade sand for iron castings in green sand mould. But the grain rupture tendency of the low SiO2 content showed unsettled effect.

我国铸造业常使用SiO2含量较低的原沙作为铸铁件生产造型用砂。为了研究这种低品位砂对型破性能和铸件质量的影响,将黄河风积砂浮选分离成石英精砂和长石砂两种组分,再按不同比例配制成几种SiO2含量不同而颗粒条件相似的原砂,研究SiO2含量对抗粘砂性、抗结疤性、耐破碎性的影响。结果表明,对于湿型铸铁件来说,低品位砂的抗粘砂性、抗结疤性能不低于高品位砂,在耐破碎性方面则各有长短。

影响花岗岩耐酸耐碱性的因素主要有:岩石的化学成分、矿物成分,种属、时代和结构构造。花岗岩耐酸度随SiO_2含量增加而增加,而耐碱度与SiO_2的关系,则比较复杂。由石英、钾长石和少量斜长石组成的钾长花岗岩,其耐酸耐碱度最好,属耐酸耐碱型;由石英、钾长石和斜长石组成的普通花岗岩,其耐酸度较好,耐碱度较差,应属耐酸型;二长花岗岩和花岗闪长岩的耐酸度均较低,而耐碱度都较高,应属耐碱型。花岗岩耐酸耐碱性与岩石时代、结构构造的关系亦很密切,以燕山晚期第三次浸入的中细粒钾长花岗岩的耐酸耐碱度为最好。
