This paper deals with the results of the priliminary study on the surface of the adult Phlebotomus chinensis. In the observation, we found that Newstead's spine is not really spine-like structure, but ladle-shaped, on which there are a number of setae, scales and microhairs etc. There were many microholes on the surface of the ascoid and Newstead's spine, and more than 10 special grains were found on the macrochatae of the style.

The morphology of the larva of Phlebotomus tumenensis are reported. The larva shares the morphologic characteristies with the genera Phlebomus and Sergentomyia. The morphologic characteristics of the genus Phlebotomus expressed in the larva of Ph. tumenensis are plumous antennal inner-lateral bristles, short caudal setae with about half the body length of the larva for the inner pairs, 4/5 about the length of inner caudal bristles for the outer ones. The morphology of the larva of Phlebotomus tumenensis are reported. The larva shares the morphologic characteristies with the genera Phlebomus and Sergentomyia. The morphologic characteristics of the genus Phlebotomus expressed in the larva of Ph. tumenensis are plumous antennal inner-lateral bristles, short caudal setae with about half the body length of the larva for the inner pairs, 4/5 about the length of inner caudal bristles for the outer ones. The morphologie characteristics of the genus of Sergentomyia expressed in this larva are as follows: Short medio-dorso-anteric-margino-thoracic bristles with 0.43 times the length of the dorsoinner ones. Much shorter of the inner-dorso-margino-abdominal bristles than that of the medial and outer ones and gradually becoming smaller from the anterior to posterior. The minute bristles are extremely small only about 5μ in length. In addition, hairs on the 2-6th abdominal tergites of adult Ph. tumenensis are predominantly erect, intermingled with a few recumbent ones. The morphologic characteristics of the pupa of Ph. tumenensis are that for the genus Phlebotomus. The corresponding morphological features between different stages ( except ova ) of Ph. tumenensis and Phlebotomus jiangsuensis are compared and which genuus should Ph. tumenensis be incorporated in is discussed.

土门白蛉幼虫具有白蛉与司蛉两属的形态特征。属白蛉属的特征为触角内侧鬃毛呈羽状分枝,尾刚毛短。属司蛉属的特征为胸背前缘中毛短小,约为内毛的0.43倍,腹背后缘内毛较中毛及外毛均短,并自前至后依次递减,点状微小鬃毛极为细小,长度仅有5μm。该蛉成虫腹部背板Ⅱ~Ⅵ节的毛丛为竖立与平卧相交杂,蛹的特征与白蛉属相符。术文比较了土门白蛉与江苏白蛉除卵外的各虫期形态,并对土门白蛉的分属问题进行了探讨。
