This paper reviews various approaches for the sources of fuel supply on diesel traction in our country. Since China, s conditions differ from those in USA. West Europe and Japan, the use of diesel fuels of low cetane number should be urged so as to increase the sources of fuel supply. We developed a Chinese type light diesel fuel of low cetane number named diesel fuel type A, of which the properties and process of development are presented in this paper. 本文论述了当前中国铁路内燃机车燃料供应的有关问题。鉴于中国的国情与美国、西欧以及日本的国情不同,应当鼓励燃用低十六烷值柴油以扩大内燃机车燃料的供应;我们研制了一种中国式的低十六烷值轻柴油,称之为A柴油;并介绍了A柴油的研制过程及其特点。试验结果表明,应当利用A柴油作为内燃机车柴油机的一个可靠的油源及其前景。
