In this paper, some methods of impoving the reliability of the non-crossing current thysister drive system for a planer are proposed. It is proved both in theoretical analysis and practice that it is more reliable in control logic to use delayed-locking and delayed-opening circuit. The speed regulator is discussed in detail. The effect of non-linear characteristics of the operational amplifier on system performance is analyzed. Both in theoretical analysis and practical experience show that in order to get the transient respones without overshoot, speed regulator with speed derivative feedback is more reasonable than ordinary PI regulator. The method of calculating parameters of the regulator is also given.

A set of voltage differential equations describing electromagnetic transient of synchronous machines is derived from Park-Gorev equations. To solve the equations, the author presents a stepwise method with a solution worked out in analytical form for each step. The equations and the method of solution have been used in the computing program of the transient of complex power system with impact load.
