The problems concerned are how to resolve the contradiction between the requirements of precise geometric shape and exact dimension in the manufacture of the circular waveguide, how to design the driving mechanism necessary for precise axial measurement by the laser interferometer, and how to strengthen the rigidity of the piston rod for decreasing the effects caused by the swing of the sliding receiving coil. The error due to the inconsistency between the actual displacement of the receiving coil and the readings of the laser interferometer caused by the temperature fluctuation is analysed also in this paper.
