The method of designing the slow-wave system for inductive coupled cavity chain which has been used in the high-power travelling-wave tube is described in detail. A slow-wave system of 30 KV electron beam voltage has been designed and constructed. The dispersion characteristic and the interaction impedance of the system has been measured. From the comparison of the measured values with the corresponding calculated values of the dispersion characteristic, it is noticed that the difference between the theoretical value and its experimental result of the upper cut-off frequency is only about 0.6%, for the lower cut-off frequency about 2.8%.
