Red palm oil in the maternal diet increases provitamin A carotenoids in breastmilk and serum of the mother-infant dyad
      
Aim of the study We investigated the effectiveness of short-term dietary supplementation of mothers with red palm oil as a strategy for improving the vitamin A status of the mother-infant dyad.
      
Methods Lactating mothers in Colonia Los Pinos, a barrio of Tegucigalpa, Honduras, consumed a total of 90-mg β-carotene as red palm oil (n = 32) supplements (n = 36) or placebo (n = 18) in six equal doses over 10 days.
      
Results Maternal serum α-carotene and β-carotene concentrations were increased 2 fold by palm oil compared with 1.2 fold by β-carotene supplements.
      
Increases in breastmilk β-carotene were greater for the palm oil group (2.5 fold) than for the β-carotene supplement group (1.6 fold) and increases in milk α-carotene concentrations (3.2 fold) were slightly greater than those of β-carotene.

This paper presents separately the preparation of Na a-sulfo methyl fatty acid ester from saturated and unsaturated methyl fatty acid ester with vaporized SO_3(diluted with dry air)in a laboratory continuous thin film sulfonation reactor.The color and content of disodium salt of MES are greatly influenced by the sulfonation conditions and other factors.The sulfonation mechanism is discussed on the basis of experimental results.

利用实验室规模的膜式磺化器和空气稀释的SO_3气体,分别对饱和棕榈油脂肪酸甲酯和不饱和棉子油脂肪酸甲酯进行连续磺化,并合成了MES.分析了合成条件及其它因素对MES产品色泽和二钠盐含量的影响,并根据实验结果,对磺化反应机理进行了探讨.

A new 6502# type alkylalcoholamides were made by condensation of palm oil and diethanolamine under alkalinous catalyst condition,at 140~150C reaction time 4~6 hours. The experiment indicated that self-made 6502# palm alkylalcoholamide has almost the same properties as coconut oil alkylalcoholamide. It can completely substitute the 6502# coconut oil alkylalcoholamide and the cost will decrease greatly.

棕榈油与二乙醇胺在碱性催化剂存在下,于140~150℃反应4~6h,可制得一种新的6502~#型烷醇酰胺。试制的6502~#型棕榈油烷醇酰胺具有与6502~#型椰子油烷醇酰胺基本相同的性质。前者可完全代替后者,且成本比后者降低。

Methyl palmitate is synthesized by using palmitic acid obtained from palm-oil and methanol as raw materials.The reaction lasts 2.5 hours,using sodium methoxide as catalyst.The pro-ductivity is 98.8% with melting point 30℃ and acid value 0.91.

以甲醇和从棕榈油中获得的棕榈酸为原料,以甲醇钠为催化剂,在80℃下反应2.5h合成棕榈酸甲酯。其产率为98.8%,熔点为30℃,酸价为0.91。
