High firing consumption of fuel, instability of kiln temperature and low rate of good brick have been existed in silica brick, tunnel kiln of refractory company of TISC since it is put into operation in 1980. The article describes a two dimensional heat transfer model which can determine the steady state temperature distribution in the cooling plate and lining of blast furnace. This model can be utilized to analyze the influence of various constructional parameters of colling plate and different material characters of lining on temperature distribution and heat flux.
