This has led to a mania for building man-madelandscapes nationwide. However,not all the initators have won successes,why? What is the secret of the success gainedin Shenzhen's three landscape areas? The authors try to reveal this secret through an in-depth investigation and study.Firstly,the advantageous location,sufficient tourist market and easy access to these destinations are the prerequisite for the success. Secondly .priority should be given to the planning. Before starting the construction,it is imperativeto determine the theme of the product according to the needs of the market,design meticulously every detail of theproduct in the process of the construction so as to keep the product in high savor. Thirdly,combining the managementwith human touch and culture. Their perfect management of the restrooms in the landscape areas particularly deservespraising. Fourthly,the high quality personnel structure is the foundation of the success. 30 percent of the personnel engaged in the management are graduates from universities or colleges. The authors think that some of their experiencesare easy to learn,but some are not. However,their market-oriented planning and design,human-centred management,delicate conception of the landscape areas and mixed Chinese and western modes of management all serve as successfulexperiences and references for the relevant departments to go by.

However, through the examination and analysis of the development theory and practice of the tourist resources, the authors hold that the construction of the Miniature Three Gorges presents both good and bad prospects, in which lurk certain crises that would dim its optimistic management. And accordingly, the authors offer some retrospective yet constructive suggestions so as to reduce the hazards, and gain more desirable benefits.
