The original Carboniferous basin in the Tazhong area is a compressional intracratonic depression. The Carboniferous stratigraphic succession of the basin is rather well developed, only the topmost Maping Formation being absent. Three type I sequence boundaries and three type I sequence boundaries are recognized within it. In accordance with the above six sequence boundaries , the Carboniferous system is divided into five depositional sequences, which have the stratal characteristics of the standard sequence....

The original Carboniferous basin in the Tazhong area is a compressional intracratonic depression. The Carboniferous stratigraphic succession of the basin is rather well developed, only the topmost Maping Formation being absent. Three type I sequence boundaries and three type I sequence boundaries are recognized within it. In accordance with the above six sequence boundaries , the Carboniferous system is divided into five depositional sequences, which have the stratal characteristics of the standard sequence. These depositional sequences can be well correlated laterally in the studied area. The time spans for forming these sequences were different, roughly e-qual to the sedimentary stratal unit of a third-order eustatic cycle, which can be correlated with the rise and fall of regional and/or global sea level. However, the regional tectonic setting and sedimentary environment geoverned the formation and development of the sequences to some degree.The framework of sequence stratigraphy of the intracratonic basin in the studied area differs from that of the passive continental-margin basin in the following aspects: lack of the depositional systems of early-middle lowstand; absence of continental break, poor development of the deeply incised valley and condensed section of the maximum sea-flood, good development of the type I sequence boundaries and coastal plain depositional systems coexisting with the shelf-type fandeltas under the conditions of wet climate, which consequently led to the formation of a lithofacies framework of sea-continent alternation.

In this study,a reference well was used as “Depositional Shoreline Break” to study terrigenous sequence stratigraphy in the steep slope zone of the fault depressed lacustrine basin.According to the facies migration character and system tract superimposed style in the reference well,there are two types of terrigenous sequence (type Ⅰ and Ⅱ).The research result using B207 as the reference well shows that the three sequences of the upper member of Eh 3 in the research area have one sequence boundary of type Ⅰ and three sequence boundaries of type Ⅱ.A complete terrigenous sequence of type Ⅰ can be divided into four system tracts:Lowstand System Tract (LST),Trangressive System Tract(TST),Early Highstand System Tract(EHST) and Late Highstand System Tract (LHST) from bottom to top,and has five boundaries in which the top and bottom belong to sequence boundary,and other three to sytem stract bounday.But terrigenous sequence of type Ⅱ lacks LST.The geometrical shape of sedimentary body in every system tract appears wedge like,namely sedimentary wedge,and the cross configuration of sedimentary facies in every system tract regularly changes from basin margin to basin inside.The chorostratigraphic framework model of the Biyang fault depression clearly shows the basin formation, evolution history, and sediment filling history, as well as distribution character of terrigenous sequence in time and space.

以泌207井作为参照井,本区下第三系核三段上部所划3个陆相层序发育Ⅰ型层序界面一个,Ⅱ型层序界面3个。一个完整的Ⅰ型陆相层序自下而上发育有低位体系域(LST)、水进体系域(TST)、早期高位体系域(EHST)及晚期高位体系域(LHST)等4个体系域,共5个界面。除顶、底界面归属层序界面之外,其它3个界面皆为体系域界面;而Ⅱ型陆相层序缺失LST。无论何种体系域,其沉积体的几何形状均为楔状体,且各体系域的沉积相横向配置呈现规律性变化。等时层序地层框架模式清楚地显示了泌阳断陷成盆演化史、沉积充填史及其陆相层序时空展布特征。

According to not only the lithologic-mineral characteristics but also the identi-fication signs of land-facies sequence in seismic section and electric logs, the upperHesan member of Paleogene system in Shuanghe-Zhaoao area in Biyang fault basincan be divided into three secondary-type sequences ; and spatially, there are follow-ing sedimentary series from south to north in this basin: alluvial fan, fan delta,lake sediments and delta. Thus there exist four depositional system tracts of land-facies sequence in Biyang fault basin, therefore forming four subsequences whichare lowstand aggradation, regressive deposition, highstand aggradation and ingres-sion deposition. Having analysed the seismic facies lateral characteristics of Hesanmember of Paleogene system, with a good use of drilling,log and geology data inthis area, we converted its seismic facies into relevant sedimentary facies, fromwhich the depositional model of Hesan member in this area was derived desirably.A lithofacies frame model of land facies formation in the Biyang basin was made interms of the common development characteristics of three land-facies sequences ofthe interested object interval. Then, an age stratigraphic frame model of object in-terval was obtained by doing sequence correlation of seismic section that goesthrough boreholes.

根据陆相地层层序在地震剖面、电测曲线上的识别标志以及在岩石类型和矿物成分上的特征,将泌阳断陷双河—赵凹地区下第三系核三上段划分为三个Ⅱ型层序,由南往北呈现冲积扇—扇三角洲—湖泊—三角洲的沉积体系空间配置。泌阳断陷陆相地层层序的体系域具有四分性,其准层序组类型有四种:低位加积型、退积型、高位加积到和进积型。在综合利用研究区钻井、测井及地质资料的基础上,根据下第三系核三上段地震相平面展布特征,将地震相转换为沉积相,并由此归纳出研究区核三上段的沉积模式。针对研究区目的层段所划分三个陆相层序发育的共同特点,建立了泌阳断陷湖盆陆相层序地层岩相格架模式;在连井剖面展序地层对比的基础上,编制了研究区目的层段的年代层序地层框架模式。
