By applying theories of engagement and of fuzzy optimization and taking the area of meshing zone on escalator ZC1 worm drive as objective function and choosing α,ρ and χ as designing variables this paper carried out a fuzzy optimal design on escalator ZC1 worm drive. This designing method provides application value to the design of escalator ZC1 worm drive.
