In this paper, one-dimensional two-phase constant lag flow in combustion chamber of solid propellant rocket motors is described. Introducing a specific heat ratio K and a gas constant R- for constant lag flow, fundamental relationships analogous to those of pure gas flow are derived. The effect of particle velocity lags on pressure-time curves and flow field in chamber is analyzed.

An Integrated method for calculating unified flowfield in rocket motor chamber and nozzle is presented.In this paper the governing equation set describes unsteady one-dimensional flow with area change, mass addition, heat transfer and friction in both the chamber,and the nozzle.Of course,the method is also valid for calculating steady or unsteady gas-solid particle flow. The numerical results is in good agreement with the experimental data.

A one-dimensional unsteady two-phase flow model has been developed to simulate the ignition of dust particles behind incident shock waves. Hetcrogeneous re actions occurring on the pdrtiele surface and in the pores within the particle are used to model the chemistry.For different loading rates,the ignition delays of coal dust particles behind incident shock waves with Mach numbers between 4 and 5 are calculated using a numerical method based on the PSIC approach.Thc results agree well with experimental data.
