The backward alternate property of leaf blades was the specific property of maize, and leaf blades generally distributed in the area of azimuth 18°9'. The nonlinear equations formed by population height (Y), the distance from stem "DFS" (X) and the distance of divergence "DD" (Z) decieded the distributional space interval of the leaf area, and calculated the condensed space interval of leaf area (80% of the total leaf area). The population light conditions were greatly influenced by the daily change of sun elevation angle, and evidently became bad with shortenning of DFS and dropping of population height. In order to get high and stable yield for the two interplanting crops, the seed spacing should be 29.6 cm and the large row spacing should surpass 90 cm to aviod overlap of the condensed space intervals of maize leaf areas. Furthmore, the relations between seed spacing and row spacing were discussed.
