The interpretation of satellite remote sensing data in terms of land surface properties requires the use of radiation transfer models and inversion procedures. Various approaches are briefly mentioned, including Monte Carlo ray tracing, physicallybased 1D models, and parametric formulations capable of representing the general anisotropic behavior of natural surfaces. Some of the assumptions made in each approach, as well as their implications are reviewed, and the intrinsic difficulty of dealing with radiation transfer in a medium as inhomogeneous as a plant canopy is underscored. The need to pursue further research to take full advantage of the upcoming generation of advanced Earth Observation sensors is stressed.

In this paper, a scheme of parameterization for dry deposition of particle which is fit for the pollution transport model is reached with a “two-layer” surface layer model. It includes the detailed meteorological conditions, the characteristics of surface and the physical and chemical properties of aerosol particles. According to the comparison between the numerical results and observed data, the scheme is reasonable in general, it can describe the main physical processes and mechanics about the dry deposition of the gross particle pollutants.

用“二层”模式给出一个适用于污染物输送模式的粒子干沉降参数化方案,它比较详细地考虑了近地面层的气象条件,地表特性和气溶胶粒子的物理、化学特性等。从计算值与观测值的比较来看,计算值的离散范围能涵盖所有的观测结果,因而从总体上看比参数化方案是合理的,能够描述粒子总污染物干沉降的主要物理过程及机制。

指出光学遥感大气订正是定量遥感亟待解决的问题之一,其订正结果直接取决于大气粒子模式、地表特性假设和大气传输理论的采用及其精度。对多种影响要素进行了全面、详尽的分析和总结,阐述了相关研究的发展历史和现状,介绍了新近提出的直接订正和间接订正法。指出现有大气订正理论方法与实用化阶段还有一定距离,有待进一步发展和完善。最后给出光学遥感大气订正的总体构想
