Based on principle and methods for base level cycle, the drilling, well logging, seismic and geochemical data from Hadexun area are analyzed. One I-type and three II-type sequence interfaces of Lower Carboniferous are recognized, and three medium-term base level cycles (SC_1, SC_2, SC_3) corresponding to three transgressive-regressive cycles are classified.
Base on the theory of base level cycle, three super long term, eight long term, nineteen middle term and sixty two short term cycle sequences can be distinguished from Benxi Formation(C 2b), Taiyuan Formation(P 1t), Shanxi Formation(P 1s) and Xiashihezi Formation(P 1xs) of the Upper Paleozoic in Ordos Basin.
Within the correlation framework of the sag, the development and distribution of the source-reservoir-caprock assemblages and their inner relationship to the base level cycle. It is pointed out that four sets of the assem- blages (LSC_1, LSC_2, LSC_(3~+)LSC_4 and LSC_5) are developed, of which LSC_(3~+)LSC_4 assemblages are the most favorable for hydrocarbon accu- mulation.

In this paper the geoid in the Huanghai Sea is recalculated based on the tide data in the Qingdao Harbottr during 1951—1983.Its true valueis evalualed by statistical test. We determined that it is 2.420m above the tidal datum in Qin- gdao Harbour Tide Station,also 72.259m below the national datum level.
