This paper describes the method for measuring gas content and gas composition in coal samples obtained underground. The residual higher hydrocarbons (ml/g) in various rank of coal samples have been determined. Comparisons of the gas composition of the samples from the coal seams liable and not liable to outburst in several major coal fields have been made. Finally, the concentration (%) of hydrocarbons is introduced as an index for assessing the danger of outburst and has been checked in practice.

A comparison of the theoretical values with the measured data of gas emission from samples experiments on methane emission in Yangquan No.1 mine shows that they are quite fit. Based on analysis of the diffusion model,a proximate equation is obtained. The experimental studies also show that diffusion parameter, B, increases with the decrease of particle size. And the diffusion coefficient D decreases with the decrease of particle size, when average size is substituted for d. One of the important differences between coal prone to or not prone to outburst is that they have different initial emis sion rates. The studies on methane diffusion from coal cuttings are most useful for predicting outburst and for determining methane content with desorption method.

研究煤屑瓦斯扩散规律的理论依据是Fick扩散定律。本文借助热传导方程的解法,求得煤屑瓦斯扩散方程的理论解。理论计算值和阳泉一矿煤样瓦斯放散量测定结果的比较表明:扩散模型和煤屑瓦斯涌出规律符合得较好。基于对扩散模型进行的分析,提出了近似公式。实验还表明:扩散参数B值随粒度的减小有增大的趋势,用平均粒度代替d计算出的扩散系数D随粒度的减小而减小。突出危险和非突出危险煤的一个重要的差别在于瓦斯放散初速度的不同,研究煤屑瓦斯扩散规律对突出预测和按解吸法测定煤的瓦斯含量有现实意义。

The gas content of coal seams is the main factor of the outflow of gas in coal mines, it also is an important criterion for predicting the risk of outburst in coal seam. On the basis of experimental investigation, this paper describes the relationships between absorbability, metamorphism, porosity and gas content of coal, and the diff-ence between outburst of coal seam and coal seam on amount of gas content. Besides it also can inquire for some mechanism on the problem of coal and gas outburst

本文以实验为基础,研究了气体的吸附性和瓦斯含量间的关系,煤质和瓦斯含量间的关系,煤的孔隙率和瓦斯含量间的关系,以及突出煤层和非突出煤层瓦斯含量间的差别,并在此基础上探讨了煤和瓦斯突出机理.
