Methods: The TBS grade system recommended by the international carcinoma association was applied for cervical cytology diagnosis,in order to screen the idemiologic condition of cervical carcinoma, precancerous lesion, infectious lesion and reaction change.
Liquid-based cytologic test (LCT) has been applied for cervical cytology diagnosis successfully and widely, however it is few reported yet for sputum cytology diagnosis at present.
Objective:To investigate the application of cell block preparations in cervical cytology and to assess the significance of detecting p16~INK4A expression in cervical deciduous cells on cell block to identify cervix lesion.
Conclusions:The technology of cell block is helpful to diagnose of cervicovaginal cytology. Immunostaining for p16~INK4A on cervical cell block can increase the detective rate and decrease the rate of missed diagnosis for high grade squamous intraepithelial neoplasia and squamous cell carcinoma.
