ATPase, glutathione-S-transferase(GST) and total oxyradical scavenging capacity (TOSC) in the liver of mouse and acetyl-cholinesterase (AChE) in the brain of mice were determined after the mouse exposed to domestic detergent of different concentration.
The results showed that when 4-week mice was exposed to domestic detergent, biomarkers such as AChE、GST、TOSC were affected in 4~12days; but there was no obvious change with ATPase activity. The change of these biomarkers proved the early effects of domestic detergent on mouse.
Conclusion The sewage water containing large amount of domestic detergent will exert continuous harmful effects on fish if they were discharged into natural water body.
1. Four-week old mice were exposed to domestic detergents for 4-12d, and the results showed significant changes in glutathione-S-transferase, ethoxyresorufin-o-deethylase, total oxyradical scavenging capacity, glutathione peroxidase and glutathione reductase, among them, response time to detergent is different.
Usual types of domestic detergents produced by five different factories were used to study their toxic effects on aquatic animals and potential hazard to aquatic ecosystem.
Results It showed that all the detergents have acute toxicity on the three types fish at the concentrations far below the amount daily used. The 24 h LC_ 50 was from 20 mg/L to 55 mg/L.
Although historically the development of surface active agents has been driven mainly by househould detergents, nondetergent applications did play a major role in shaping the surfactant market of today.
:After crucian carps(Carassius auratus) were exposed to domestic deterg ents for one week and two weeks, the toxic effects of detergents on fish were as sessed by detecting some biomarkers.
The qualitative identification of the surface active agents commonly used in household detergent formulations is possible using thin layer chromatography (TLC).
The rapid growth and diversity of the household detergent market requires continuous consideration of new materials needed to meet the demands of new, improved and modified products.
Household detergent sales during 1975 in Western Europe totaled more than $4 billion and are expected to continue to grow at approximately 3 to 4 percent annual increments during next decade.
Rainbow glass, useful for the lamp shade, can be prepared with PVA-(NH4)2 Cr2O7 as photosensitive materials by photoetching technique. It has good resistance to water, dilute acid solutions and other home-cleaning solvents. Thus it can be used as home decorations. Productio process of nonsilver materials is simple and low-cost.
This paper views the historical development, geochemistry, reserves, dehydration, reprocessing and utilization, etc. for Glauber salt and sodium sulfato resources, laying an emphasis on the dehydration, electrodialysis techniques and other reprocessings.
Sugar-based surfactants as mild materials, derived from renewable nature resources,it is well compatible with environment, and is mild to skin,it has good foam properties and can be used as cosurfactant in personal care products, household detergents and dishwashing products. The properties and applications of sugar-based surfactants such as sucrose esters, alkylpolyglycosides, glucosamides and sodium sugar sulfosuccinates are introduced. They will be continue to grow in popularity.
