These analysis results of ground stress field in this area are consistent basically with the measured informations and data in situ, the effect caused by changes of the geologic structure plane and geographical undulation, the fracture tectonic system in dam area and its mechanical properties.
A Study on the Characteristics and Engineering Effects of Abnormal Geothermal in Hemenkou Dam Area of Wudongde Hydroelectric Station on Jinshajiang River
the range of seepage area in the dam site is determined rationally through the evaluation for geologic structure and strata distribution of both banks; the numerical calculations about three-dimensional seepage flow with in the range of 1.2×1.2 km~2 in dam area are performeed by using the calculating programs for three-dimensional seepage flow.
This article fully describes the engineering geological conditions of Longtan Hydropower Station, the high slope geological conditions and some countermeasures, on the basis of a large number of geological explorations on the dam site area of Longtan Hydropower Station on the characteristics of the rock mass mechanics, the stability of the surrounding rocks of the large underground cavities, the stability of high slope around the structures, the geological conditions of the left bank creep rock masses and the natural building materials further more.
The phenomenon of large-area dynamic relaxation of surrounding rockmass has been observed in Daliushu dam site area of the Yellow River, which is characterized mainly by release of geostatic stresses, open of structural planes and marked reduction of density of rocks.
In the light of the main engineering geological conditions and exi st ing problems of the dam location area, this paper makes comparison of the seepag e prevention schemes of the dam foundation and the ancient watercourse on the le ft bank, and determines the seepage prevention measure of combining the plastic concrete cut-off wall and the two-row curtain grouting, which solves well the seepage problem existing in the dam location area.
It has been demonstrated by analyzing the DSS data in the Three Gorges Dam area that S wave splitting and polarization anomalies are reliable means for studying seismic anisotropy of crustal medium and the direction of regional tectonic stress field.
We found that: ① In dam area of the reservoir, gravity effect resulted from water load increase is the most significant, maximum gravity change is 200×10-3 m/s2, but this effect is limited in amplitude and range.
New Sr and Pb isotopic data are presented for basaltic to rhyolitic volcanics from the Rooiberg Group of the Transvaal Sequence in the Dullstroom-Loskop Dam area of the eastern Transvaal.
A comparison has been made in the Aswan Dam area between geoids determined using fast Fourier transform (FFT) with gravity disturbances exclusively and LSC using only the gravity disturbances and the disturbances combined with GPS/levelling data.
Pumping tests were conducted at some wells that were drilled within the dam site zone and drawdown-time curves were constructed, by means of which the transmissivity and storage coefficients were assessed using two different methods.
In addition, sodium ion concentrations at different piezometric tip elevations were measured in a number of wells that were previously drilled inside the dam site zone.
The phenomena of disk-shaped fractures of cores and of rock burst are described. This is followed by a presentation of stress measurements carried out in the river bed and in galleries. Fracture mechanisms of rock and stress distributions surrounding the underground power house are analysed by the finite element method. Furthermore test results with the rock samples tested by the servocontrolled stiff machine using the acoustic emission technigue are also introduced.
Xiao guanyin and Daliushu dam-locations in which distance is 48 kilometres apart are situated in Hei shangxia on the Yellow River, and belong to the north-west regional strong earthquake zone in China, where there had been big earthquakes, one of 8 1/2 on Richterscale in the south, in Haiyuan one of 7 1/2 in Zhongnin, and another one of 7 in Zhongwei, (both in its north). The crustal activities are under the strong control of Haiyuan-Jin-tai, Zhongnin-Zhongwei active fault zones. Thus, the regional stable co...
This paper introduces the geological structures features of Longmen dam site and analyzes formation and types of clay interactions, located mainly nearby the axis of warping. The continuity and development of the clay interactions are found to vary with continuity of the weakened stratum and clay content.
