In the present paper are reported some preliminary observations on the parthenogenesis in Laminaria japonica Aresch.Female gametophytes of L.japonica when fully formed were carefully isolated one by one and cultured on separate slides each of which was individually placed in a Petri dish containing the usual culture solution under the light intensity of about 1000 lux.Vitamin C was added to induce mitosis in the early cultivation.The growth of female gametophytes was thus observed to be much promoted,forming multicellular filaments with dozens or hundreds of cells.Under the cultural condition temperature was seen to be the main factor affecting the maturation of female gametophytes.Bach cell in the female gametophytes seemed to be able to mature and to extrude an egg below 16C.Some of the extruded eggs were observed to develope into sporophytes.Much of the partheno-sporophytes were very abnormal and irregular in shape,which usually died in due time.However,about 23% of the parthenosporophytes were quite normal and continued to grow in the laboratory.Cytological observations confirmed that the sporophytes were really derived from parthenogenesis with monoploid chromosome number (n = 20-24) in the cell under mitosis.Some cells in the monoploid sporophytes were seen to have diploid chromosome number (2n = 40-45),some sporophytes having an abnormally large nucleus in some cells and some sporophytes containing several nuclei in a cell.These might be the main causes for the formation of abnormal parthenosporophytes.Other abnormalities might be due to chromosome mutations and the harmful action of some recessive genes.The success in inducing parthenogenesis in L.japonica might be used as a useful method in the Laminaria breeding.

The structure and properties of a directionally solidified high strength cast

研究了定向凝固对一种高强度铸造镍基高温合金的组织和性能的影响,发现合金的低倍和显微组织与定向凝固速度及凝固后的冷却速度密切相关。定向凝固可以大幅度提高合金的塑性、热疲劳和中温持久性能,瞬时拉伸及高温持久性能也有显著改善。中温(~760℃)持久寿命的提高主要由于蠕变第二阶段的延长,而高温(~980℃)持久寿命提高主要是蠕变第三阶段延长的结果。定向凝固改善铸造镍基高温合金高温机械性能的主要原因是消除了垂直于应力轴的横向晶界;另一原因是获得〈100〉方向择优生长的柱状晶。高温固溶热处理可降低第二阶段的蠕变速率,延长这个阶段,从而进一步大幅度提高中温持久寿命。这主要归因于冷却析出的细小γ′相代替了铸态粗大γ′相。通过定向凝固及高温固溶处理可提高合金的中温(~760℃)持久寿命和延伸率达3—4倍,热疲劳性能达5倍。消除了横向晶界的定向凝固合金中,初生MC是蠕变及热疲劳裂纹的策源地。预计降低合金的碳含量从而减少MC数量将进一步改善合金的高温机械性能。

The strength of pure corundum was tested.The result shows that the bending strength and impact toughness of the material are greatly enhanced. The bending strength of samples treated by Cr_2O_3+CrCl_3 is increased by 43%, the impact toughness is increased by 47%.By means of scanning electron microscope, electron probe microanalysis and X-ray diffraction, the chemical mechanism of strengthening of pure corundum was studied.It is considered that the coefficient of expansion of the newly formed material in the surface layer is less than that of the original body after chemical treatment.After cooling, compressive stress is formed in the surface layer, and the stress distribution on the cross section of ceramics is improved.The existence of the compressive stress in the surface layer is the main reason for the strengthening of ceramics. At the same time the nearly formed grains in the surface layer are very fine. It is also a main reason for the strengthening of ceramics that the fine grains will fill in the interstices between crystals in the surface layer of ceramics and the effect of stress concentration will be weakend.

本文作者采用H.P.Kirchnet介绍的方法:把瓷体埋在Co_2O_3或Cr_2O_3粉末中,经过高温使瓷体在表面上反应,生成尖晶石以及使低膨胀系数的氧化物在瓷体表面上沉积,使纯刚玉瓷获得化学增强。 结果表明:瓷体的抗折强度、冲击韧性都有较大的提高。其中用Cr_2O_3+CrCl_3处理的试样,其抗折强度提高了42.96%,冲击韧性提高了46.93%。 借助于SEM、EPMA及X射线衍射仪,对纯刚玉瓷的化学增强机理进行探讨。认为;经化学方法处理后新形成的表层物质的膨胀系数比主体的小,冷却时在其表面形成压应力,改善了瓷体截面的应力分布状况。表层压应力的存在是瓷体增强的一个主要原因。同时新形成的表面晶粒细小,细晶粒对瓷体表面晶粒间进行充填,减弱了表面微裂纹尖端应力集中的效应,成为瓷体增强的另一原因
