As a better approach for determining the tensile strength of rocks, laboratory hydraulic fracturing tests on hollow rock cylinders are described in this paper. In order to take intrinsic scattering of the tensile strength of roclts into account, the experimental data are treated statistically using the single defect criterion, and the characteristic strength as well as average uniaxial tensile strength of the rock tested under such a specific condition are calculated.

岩石的抗拉强度对工程设计占有特殊重要的地位,这是无庸置疑的,但是如何评价在实验室用不同试验方法测得的结果,历来颇有争议,也是值得研究的问题之一,本文从现有的单轴直接拉伸法和劈裂法(即巴西法)以及水力破裂法等三种不同试验方法进行比较,尽管这三种方法的受力条件有所不同,但即使用同一种方法测得的结果,也由于岩石内部存在各种缺陷会有很大差异,试验数据有很大的随机性,作者根据水力破裂法的试验结果,利用缺陷统计理论,推导出岩石的特征抗拉强度和平均破坏应力,从而求得均勻拉伸的破坏强度,比较接近实际,因此认为水力破裂法是研究岩石抗拉强度较好的方法.

本文提出三单元式模型,讨论了荷载转移法的收敛性。对于几乎不能承受拉应力的材料,若发生单纯的拉伸破坏,该方法是无条件收敛的。然而一般地讲,对于静力问题,荷载转移法的收敛取决于加荷等级和计算精度。对于动力问题,取决于时间步长△t和计算精度;只要△t取得足够小,收敛就相当迅速。当分析软—硬—软状态时,本文修正了荷载转移法,以加快敛速度。最后,文中还给出了用荷载转移法作土—结构相互作用非线性分析时土单元和节理单元的不平衡应力张量表达式。

陶瓷材料抗拉强度的测试技术一直是个难以解决的问题,而抗弯强度的测定则已经较成熟且简便。本文分析了弯曲破坏与拉伸破坏的机理和差异,以均匀介质为对象导出弯曲与拉伸强度的理论关系,并结合损伤和Weibull统计理论推出具有实用性的弯曲与拉伸强度关系。从而为确定脆性材料拉伸强度提供了一种间接方法。
