However, and the effects of constraintr at, Tongguan as a local datum, have been still remaining, even though the bed elevation was lowered 2m. It is the composition of these effects that the trends of degradation and aggradation upstream and downstream of Tongguan are quite different.In recent years, the longitudinal profile from Sanmenxia to Tongguan has been approaching to be stable. From now on,if the outflow capacity and the operating mode would be unchanged,the continuous lowering elevation of Tongguan woult not be expected. However,the intermittent rise and fall would still occur in accordance with the variation of incoming discharge and sediment.Owing to the constraint of Tongguan, the flood of the Yellow River often intruded the estuarial area of Weihe River. Especially, when the discharge of Beiluohe River or Weihe River was low and its concentration was much high, a trementdous deposition occured, and sometimes even blocked the rivgr mouth of the Weihe River and threatened the safety of flood prevention. These situations might be expected in the future, therefore, how to regulate the estuarial area of the Weihe River is worthy to study further.

It may provide an excellent experience for studying the environmental pro- blems of tidal estuary. Runoff and tidal range are the main factors influencing the effects of dilution and dispersion. The polluted area having less than 100 times the dilution multiple during the dry season and neap tide is maximum and the effect of dispersion at slack water during the whole tidal cycle is very bad. It appears that the concentration matter during the process of dispersion has been overlapped each other because of the existence of oscillating flow. In this paper, the main instruments and installations of the physical model and the basic method of tests and one and two dimensional nu- merical calculations are described. Experimental and numerical results are compared with field observation data and it is shown that the agree- ment is well.

本文扼要介绍了长江口污水排放的物理模型试验和数学模型计算。为潮汐河口的水环境研究提供了经验。迳流和潮差是影响污水稀释扩散效果的主要因素。在枯季小潮期间小于100倍稀释倍数的污染面积最大,而在一个全潮周期中,憩流时的扩散效果最差。由于往复水流的存在使得浓度物质在扩散过程中相互叠加。还介绍了物理模型试验中的主要仪器设备、基本试验方法以及一维和二维数值计算。并将模型试验、数值计算成果与现场观测资料作比较,其结果是一致的。
