Comparing with CMC and HEC, the synthesized HECMC has better water solubility, better stability of viscosity, temperature resistance and brine resistance in the range of MS 0.22 ̄2.00 and DS 0.26 ̄0.77. The structure of the synthesized HECMC was also characterized by IR in this paper.
