The optimum processing conditions for the preparation of sodium copper chlorophyllin from saponified paste of pine needles are as follows: sodium chlorophyllin is clarified by adding water (ratio of water to paste 5:1 (by wt.)) and then reacted with a copper salt, forming copper-fixed chlorophyll. The amount of 20% copper sulfate solution added is 10-11% of paste. The yields of sodium copper chlorophyllin were 20-24% of the saponified paste.
