A stepwise dissolution procedure for chemical speciation analysis of platinum group elements in geological samples has been improved. Eight components were separated by selectively chemical dissolution steps, i. e. water-soluble, exchangeable, carbonate, metal, sulfide, oxide, silicate and HF-insoluble residue. The experimental parameters, such as reagent, temperature, acidity and time in dissolving various phases, have been investigated in detail. The dissolution selectivity of the procedure is quite well, with a relative dissolution error of less than 4%. The chemical speciation of platinum group elements in Cretaceous/ Tertiary(K/T) boundary sample was analyzed using this revised procedure combined by inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry.

The phase speciations of trace thallium in the Yunfu pyrite ore are analyzed, including exchange phase, carbonate phase, oxide phase organic, sulfide phase and phase combined with quartz etc. The results showed that the research about the phase speciations of trace thallium which exist in the pyrite ore can provide some basic datum for the treatment of the thallium pollution during the exploitation and utilization of mineral resource.
