The formulae for the propagation speed of small pressure disturbance and the critical mass flux with and without slip between vapor and water are derived.The effect of elastic deformation of the tube-wall on the propagation speed of small pressure disturbance and the critical mass flux under rather high pressure and the effect of the flow-pattern on the propagation of disturbance and the critical mass flux are discussed.Some results obtained are compared with test data published elsewhere. It is shown that the calculated values agree fairly well with the test values.
