The influence of the operation conditions on the liquid phase air oxidation of n-butane and the reaction product distribution has been studied. The reaction products are analysed by chemical and gas chromatographic methods. Under the optimum conditions, the yield of acetic acid is 111% based on the n-butane converted, and the conversion of n-butane per pass is 79%. Ethyl acetate, methyl ethyl ketone, and also methyl acetate are the main intermediate products; however, methyl acetate is much stable than the former...

Multishield thermoinsulation is a superinslation construction which have advantages of both the radiative shields and the conductive shields.Under the condition of high vacuum,to make use of the multishield thermoinsu- lation construction which is equipped with the shields from 10 to 20 can satisfy the needs for the storage of small quantity liquid hydrogen and liquid helium.The 50 litres cryogenic vessel which is equipped with multi- ple aluminium foils used as both conductive shieds in neck tube and radia- tive shields in multilayer insultions were examined.The temperature dist- ributions of both neck tube and conductive shiel were measured.The dis- tributive regularity of the shield's temperature and the estimated efficiency of the multishieds thermoinsulation were explored primarily.In comparison with other superinsulation constructions,our test results have shown that (?)his type vessels have advantages of high effieiency in insulation,light in weight,short in precold time and low in cost.

The flooding point and hold-up of the dispersed phase in an extraction column with reciprocating-sieve plates of 32 mm inside diameter and 1960 mm effective column height have been investigated under the following conditions: Percent perforation of the plates 40%, 53.5% and 63.7%, diameters of perforated holes 7.8, 9.0 and 9.8 mm, and distances between plates 20 and 40mm respectively. Experiments were carried out with three different liquid-liquid systems covering a rather wide range of physical properties.
