It influences not only the replacement, cost of shipbuilding, operating performence and cost accounting of the ship, but alsothe structure of shipbuilding and repairing industries andthe development of science and technology. According to thestatistics of some domestic and foreign ships, this paperanalyses the problems, such as the present state of ship's agein different countries, the influence of ship's age over shipperformance, the relation between the natural wearing of hulland technical service life of the ship, determining ship'sservice life based on shipping cost, the relation betweentechnical development and ship's service life. And it makesa suggestion that the service life of merchant ships in ourcountry should be reduced from 40 years to 15-25 years.

The paper, having analysed the envelope-graph of pressure distribution that the vehicles transfer to the foundation, measured the regularity of the cumulative deformation of various kinds of foundations under repetitive loading, while taking into account the frequency of the lateral distribution of trucks and estimated the improvement of the supporting condition due to the sub-bases, calculated the load stresses under the pavement with partial contact, using the Finite Element Meteod. The paper, having analysed the envelope-graph of pressure distribution that the vehicles transfer to the foundation, measured the regularity of the cumulative deformation of various kinds of foundations under repetitive loading, while taking into account the frequency of the lateral distribution of trucks and estimated the improvement of the supporting condition due to the sub-bases, calculated the load stresses under the pavement with partial contact, using the Finite Element Meteod. On this basis, the relationship between the supporting condition of the sub-bases, the pavement and their change of stresses for different years is established, whereby the study of the function of the sub-bases under the cement concrete pavement has been carried on. The conclusions obtained in the paper are as follows:(1)The gaps between the pavement and foundation can be distinctly improved by the sub-base, therefore, additional stresses caused by the gap can be reduced and the life of the pavement can be effectively prolonged.(2)Monolithic materials should be used to build the subbases. So far as our country is concerned, lime stabilized soil or industrial wastes are proposed.(3)Theoretical results show that the stabilized subbases with an appropriate thickness can prevent pumping.

本研究在分析了车辆驶经混凝土路面时传递到基础上的压力分布(基础承载值)包络图,并实验测定了荷载重复作用下各种基础的形变累积规律之后,结合车轮横向分布的频率,估算了设置不同基层后路面支承状态的改善程度,采用有限元法计算局部脱空状态下路面内荷载应力的变化规律;由此建立起不同使用年限条件下,基层、路面支承条件和荷载应力变化之间的关系,用以研究基层在水泥混凝土路面中的作用. 采用上述方法,分析了几种典型基层后得出: (1)设置基层之后,路面与基础之间的脱空状况有明显改善,由此能减少由于脱空而产生的附加应力,有效地延长了路面的使用寿命. (2)应当采用整体性好的材料修筑基层。就我国的情况来讲,建议采用石灰土或者工业废渣. (30理论计算证实,只要修筑一定厚度的稳定性好的基层,就能达到防止唧泥的目的.
