The four intersection-and-difference model for line-line topological relations
      
The description of line-line topological relations is still an unsolved issue although much effort has been done.
      
To develop a sound and effective approach to describe line-line relations, it is first necessary to define the topology of an individual line, i.e., local topology.
      
On this basis, a generic model called the 4 intersection-and-difference is set up for the description of basic line-line topological relations, upon which a conceptual neighborhood graph is built with consideration of topological distance.
      
A statistical two-dimensional interacting line model is defined in terms of three parameters describing the line stiffness, the line-line interaction and an external 'restoring' force.

The coordination between line protection for line-line in series of breaker-and-a-half configuration and auto-recloseris discussed emphatically. The design and operation problems, which exist in the traditional design on the coordinationbetween line protection for line-line in series and auto-recloser, are analyzed. Then another design idea about the coordinationbetween protection and auto-recloser is proposed to improve the design on the line protection and auto-recloser equipment.

In the last analysis,the outage at interrupter of station circuit breaker due to invading lightning surges is attributed to induced overvoltage caused by thunder strike,which may be limited by surge arresters installed at line end. Discussion is made on surge arrester installation,selection,monitoring and disconnecting device. A mounting scheme of line surge arresters suitable for dual-circuit line is proposed by the authors. Expected service effect is proved when the proposed mounting scheme is used.
