Re-evaluating the language competency of sign language not only benief the development of sign language, but also impact the direction of language teaching in the school for deaf. In the article, the author consider sign language has possessed the basic language character in nature, it is a developing language. As a result, we can't neither deprive the language competency of sign language arbitrarily, nor drive up the language status of sign language blindly.

重新审视手语的语言资格不仅有利于手语的发展 ,也关系到聋校语言教育的发展方向。本文认为 ,手语在本质上已具备语言的基本特征 ,但在一定程度上和语言还有差距 ,手语是一种发展中的准语言 ,因此 ,既不能武断地剥夺手语的语言资格 ,也不能盲目地抬高手语的语言地位。
