This paper has a brief introduction on the development and application status of the copmpensation technology of arc extinction coil in coal mine 6 kV network and the protection technology of high voltage selective grounding.This paper has pointed out the uncomplement problem in the application.After introductions on the compensation principle of the arc extinction coil,capacitance current distribution law and features after the network single phase grounded,this paper analyzed the inner cause of the arc extinction coil affected to the high voltage selective grounding protection devices which are commonly used.With the applications of the compensation technology of the are extinction coil and the high voltage selective grounding protection technology,this paper also has made some proposals to the organizations who are using the arc extinction coil compensation network for references in order to have a selective grounding protection system from a surface substation to a high voltage gearbox in underground mining section.
