Objective To evaluate the association of serum matrix metalloproteinase-1(MMP-1),serum matrix metalloproteinase-2(MMP-2),tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-1(TIMP-1)levels with age,bone turnover markers and bone mineral density(BMD)in Chinese women.
Conclusion: Estrogen can effectively prevent bone loss by inhibiting osteal formation and resorption and decreasing bone transformation in ovariectomized rats,which may be related to the increased transcription of renal VDR.
Result:(1) The parameter of bone quantity in Group B was lower than that of Group A (P< 0.05),it was showed that the parameter of osteogenesis was decreased,osteoclasia parameter was increased and the bone transformation was accelerated (P< 0.05).
Results Bone indexes in the pathological group w ere smaller than the normal one(P<0 05) . The superficial indexes show:osteoclast index increased,osteogenesis index decr eased,bone transformation became faster than before(P<0.05).
Conclusion:The histological mechanism of Chinese herebs of tonifying kidney effect to prevent and treat senile osteoporosis might be:①double effects of restraining bone absorption and promoting bone formation ②reducing bone transformation to improve bone quality ③a short circuit effect during bone reconstruction.
CONCLUSION:Leptin regulates bone metabolism from various aspects,but there are also some researchers consider that leptin has nothing to do with BMD and suggest that leptin has no direct effect on bone transition and BMD.
