Abnormal setting of portland cement doped with CaF_2 was studied by setting time measurement, XRD, chemical analysis, and wave dispersive X-ray analysis. Abnormal setting of portland cement doped with CaF_2 was studied by setting time measurement, XRD, chemical analysis, and wave dispersive X-ray analysis. Experimental results show that fast or flash setting is attributed to quick hydration of C_(11)A_7·CaF_2 and slow setting is due to the solution of more F~- in alite. Abnormal setting of portland cement doped with CaF_2 is related to the distribution and amounts of F~- in various phases of clinker. More C_(11)A_7-CaF_2 will be formed and fast or flash setting occurs if more F~- are solved in the interstitial phase. However, if more F~- are solved in silicate phase, especially in alite, content of C_(11)A_7·CaF_2 in the clinker will decrease, then setting will become normal or retarding. Higher sintering temperature, fast cooling, doping with MgO and higher CaF_2 addition as well as higher KH, lower IM modulus will increase F~- content solved in the solution of alite and normal or retarding setting will occur; otherwise F~- content in interstitial phase and C_(11)A_7·CaF_2 content in the clinker will increase, then fast or flash setting will occur.

A Study on the utilization of the ratio of K content between 5th and 1st leaves (v m /Im) for K nutrient diagnosis was carried out in 1986~1991. The most sensitive part to K ftertilization was in the mid-upper midrib at low positions. The relative value of K content, expressed by Vm/Im, in the midrib between 5th and 1st leaves from top, was used for evaluating the K nutrient status of banana. The sampling part was in the connective zone between midrib and blade. The feasiblity of testing by mixture samples was defined and three factors affecting extraction rate were compared. Based on the above mentioned results, the index Vm/Im was set, the value <1.0 as K defficiency, >1.0 as sufficiency. This method offered a longer period for sampling than 3rd blade did and eliminated the trouble caused by the difference of K content among the varieties, and make the application more convenience. Vm/Im value had significant possitive correlation with fresh-fruit yield.
