Based on China's current situation of urban land utilization, this article brings forth a model for the adjustment of urban land utilization, and applies this model to probing the aim and direction of the adjustment, and also gives explanation of the function of the government's city planning in the process of the structural adjustment of urban land utilizantion.
Based on TM images and the characteristics of urban land-use and the information of thermal radiance,this paper presents a new urban index(UI=B6×B5/B4) and extracts the urban land-use information of Nanjing city and its surroundings using UI. Then the precision of the extracted land-use information is tested with confusion matrix.
