Based on the propagation law of partially coherent light, the long-distance propagation of the spatially partially coherent polychromatic light through the atmosphere is studied. It is shown that the atmospheric turbulence gives rise to spectral shift and to beam spreading of spatially partially coherent polychromatic light whether the scaling law is satisfied or not. The influence of turbulence on beam spreading of the spatially partially coherent polychromatic light is smaller than that of spatially fully coherent polychromatic light. However, the influence of bandwidth on the intensity distribution is relatively small.

Using the extended Huygens-Fresnel principle and taking the Gaussian-Schell model(GSM) beam as a typical example of partially coherent beams,the propagation of the kurtosis parameter of GSM beams passing through turbulent atmosphere is studied.It is shown that the intensity distribution of GSM beams keeps Gaussian type in spite of turbulence resulting in spreading of the beam,so K=2 remains unchanged in turbulent atmosphere.

基于广义惠更斯-菲涅尔原理,采用高斯-谢尔模型(GSM)光束作为部分空间相干光的典型例,研究了GSM光束K参数在湍流大气中的传输.研究表明:湍流要引起GSM光束扩展,但其光强仍然保持高斯分布,所以GSM光束在湍流大气中传输保持K=2不变.
