From the principle of Domain Decomposition Method (DDM), the 2nd-order linear partial differential problem is analysed and the Separated-layers Algorithm (SLA) is linked with DDM. The mathematical properties of SLA and numerical example are presented. The structure of SLA and its characteristics are discussed for general linear differential problems.
