The class E high-efficiency transistor tuned power oscillator is presented. The operation conditions of the oscillator are formulated. The effects of variations in component values is determined. Numerical results show that the oscillator is quite tolerant of reasonable circuit variations. The total efficiencies of a class E oscillator with 2.5W output at 2 MHz, obtained by computer simulation and experiment approaches, were found to be 89% and 85% respectively.
